Frequently Asked Questions

What can cranes on a string be used for?

Cranes on a string are great as a decoration for things like holiday parties, birthday parties, and dinner parties. They can also be given as a nice, creative present.

How do I order cranes on a string?

Just visit the order tab on our website, a.k.a. where you are right now.

Is this a small business?

Absolutely! Y & L's Cranes on a String is an up-and-coming small business that creates origami cranes. We are a fully online business operating with two part-time employees who have also adopted the roles of various other business positions.

What can I do with cranes on a string?

If you order the line type, you can hang them up. If you order the necklace type, you can also do this or where it as paper jewelry, although it is definitely more fragile than normal jewelry. Another creative thing you can do with cranes on a string is wrap them around a plant vase or other tall object. You can even place tape to keep it secured.

What should I do if my package comes ruined?

If you receive your project destroyed, send us an image of it. We will then give you store credit equal to 50% of your order. We will also give you instructions on how to refold most-likely-destroyed parts like the wings and head of the crane. However, many orders aren't shipped. Those orders are not applicable for this policy.

What if my package never comes?

First of all, most likely, it is going to come. Please understand that folding cranes by hand takes a while, so orders may take as long as 3 weeks to fulfill, not to mention shipping. If, after about 2 months, your package still hasn't come, then please contact us with the name you placed your order under and the fact that your package still hasn't arrived. We will try our best to get the package delivered to you. If we can't figure out a way to do this, you will get a full refund in addition to store credit equal to 50% of your order price to use on future purchases.

What happens if there are too many orders?

If we receive too many orders to fulfill within a few weeks maximum, if and only if, we will proceed by posting that all cranes will not be ready for at least however much time we need. If we get way, way, way too many orders, we may resort to temporarily shutting off access to put in new orders. Considering the orders we have received, this seems highly unlikely.
